"What really 'knocks off' my socks are two new features:
  1. bar code scanning of inventory, music library, and uniforms, and
  2. extensive global email functions
It is simply amazing to see how powerful bar code scanning can be once you have put official tags on instruments and their cases. The global email capabilities can significantly speed up communication with parents and students.

"WinBand [and WinChoir] is an easy-to-use set of pre-defined databases for sorting and tracking all band activities. For Band Directors who have struggled setting up their own databases to track all items (and never got around to finishing the job) or for those thinking about computerizing their record keeping, strong consideration should be given to this program."

Click each button to view different screen shots. Each will open in another browser window so you can view and close that window to return here.

WinEnsemble© Lite Download with Instructions
To install WinEnsemble© Lite, follow these instructions:

  1. Create a folder on your C: Drive named "WELite" (without the quotes)
  2. Download both Disk1 and Disk2 directly into your new "WELite" folder
  3. After downloading both files above, use Explorer or My Computer to browse to your new "WELite" folder where you will find two self-extracting zip files named welite1.exe and welite2.exe
  4. Double-click each file - welite1.exe first then welite2.exe second (they will automatically create 2 new subfolders named Disk1 and Disk2 respectively)
  5. Now look inside the Disk1 subfolder, and find and double-click on Setup.exe (this will activate the setup process and install WinEnsemble Lite)

If the setup program halts during the installation, there is probably a conflict with another program you have running. If there is a problem, follow these instructions:

  1. Restart your computer (to start fresh)
  2. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL and choose Task Manager
  3. Look under the Applications tab, and if any applications (other than Systray or Explorer) are displayed, click on each one and then click the 'End Task' button. Do not close Systray or Explorer because Windows needs these files to operate properly.
  4. Once all applications (besides Systray and Explorer) are closed, run 'Setup.exe' again from the Disk1 directory.
